Tip a Cop” Benefiting Special Olympics at NLR and LR Texas Roadhouse Locations

North Little Rock, Ark. – On May 15, from 5 PM to 9 PM, the Battle of the Badges “Tip a Cop” will take place at the North Little Rock and Little Rock Texas Roadhouse locations.  Members of the North Little Rock and Little Rock Police Departments will be waiting tables at the Texas Roadhouse in their respective cities to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics Arkansas.  Each agency is looking to raise the most money for Special Olympics Arkansas and to have bragging rights as to which agency has the most community support.

The true winner of this “friendly competition” will be Special Olympics Arkansas as 100% of the proceeds will go directly to help support and provide year round training to the 14,000 Special Olympic athletes in the state of Arkansas that participate in 16 different sports and Olympic style competitions.

The Governor’s Culinary Challenge, a part of the Arkansas Culinary Federation's Central Region Conference, is proud to support the efforts of the Thea Foundation with a special event that promises to be one of the culinary highlights of the year. Proceeds raised from the Governor’s Culinary Challenge will benefit the Thea Foundation Scholarship Program, which in its history has made available more than 2.2 million dollars to Arkansas high school seniors seeking a higher education.

Local Artists Fill Holiday Art Market at Starving Artist Cafe

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Annual Starving Artist Cafe Holiday Market continues this Saturday,  December 15 and again December 22.

Artists will be set up inside the restaurant to sell their original artwork (paintings, jewelry, crafts, photography, pottery, etc.) for our customers to shop as they enjoy a fantastic lunch. No fee, no commission, and the artist will get lunch on us. Market hours are Noon-2pm. Limited to six artists a day. You can do one day, several days, or all.
