Library cats light up lives of blind students | Pets

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Joey heard about these inspiring cats that live at Arkansas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired and sent his momma/agent to meet them and bring back their story.
Barney and Shadow are both FuRR fosters. Barney was a stray at a feral colony and the feeder was going to take him to a kill shelter because she said he was aggressive. FuRR Rescued him and we believe he was aggressive only because he was being defensive. He gets along perfectly well with every cat he meets. Barney is our assistant library cat now. He is wonderful outdoors on a leash and functions as one of the members of our FuRR PR Team at all our FuRR events.
Shadow is the other FuRR PR Ambassador and also goes to events. He has turned out to be perfect as a head library cat. He loves kids of all ages and loves hanging out with them. He was owned, from kittenhood, by someone who couldn't afford to care for him and FuRR took care of everything including neutering, food, litter and flea treatment. When the owner moved where he couldn't have pets, we took him into FuRR. The cats are just a big part of the library and school and very much loved by so many of the kids and staff. Their being here now is even more cherished. You can read more about the library cat program on their website. If you have an amazing pet story to share with Joey, you can contact his momma/agent Theba Lolley.
