Outdoor Report: Special youth modern gun weekend
News

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Craig O'Neill sits down with Steve "Wildman" Wilson with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission to talk about the
final weekend open for deer hunting. It's the special youth modern gun
weekend.

This is the second youth weekend the AGFC holds each hunting season. The first was held back in November (11/3/12 - 11/4/12). This Saturday, January 5 and Sunday, January 6, youth will have an opportunity to hunt once again.

The youth hunting weekend is open to ages 6 through 15 years of age. Youths who have completed hunter education must be accompanied by an adult at least 18 years old. Youths who have not completed hunter education must be under the direct supervision of an adult at least 21.

All deer harvested is attributed to the youth's seasonal bag limit.

As a reminder, the hunting period begins 30 minutes before sunrise and ends 30 minutes after sunset.
