LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Monday's sports are brought to you by the letter "J," as in Joe Johnson and Jammin' for Jackets.
Jammin' for Jackets is a basketball tournament to raise money to help student athletes in Little Rock and North Little Rock pay for their letterman jackets. The tournament is named in honor of former Little Rock Central High and current Brooklyn Nets star Joe Johnson.
Those letterman jackets are pricey, but Hall High Basketball Coach Jon Coleman said it's not really about staying warm. It's about showing off school spirit and hard work.
"Our athletes having letterman jackets, I think it serves the purpose for school pride as the number one point. So, with some young people not being able to afford them, this is a great cause."
Jammin' for Jackets will happen Dec. 6 - 8 at Hall High's George Cirks arena.
This is the 13th year for the tourney.
