The Arkansas Repertory Theatre's production of the musical "Treasure Island" continues at 7 p.m. Thursday, 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. White Water Tavern has three of the state's best songwriters under one roof, Kevin Kerby, Adam Faucett and Andy Warr, 9:30 p.m., $5. Downtown Music Hall hosts pop-punkers The Wonder Years, with Fireworks, Hostage Calm and Misser, 6 p.m., $13 adv., $15 day of. Stickyz brings in folky Memphis singer/songwriter Chris Milam, 9 p.m., 18-and-older. Film geeks take note: The WRI Film Forum at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute atop Petit Jean Mountain kicks off Thursday, offering up-and-comers access to industry vets, who'll impart their wisdom in a four-day series of seminars, workshops and screenings. State VA Director to Speak at MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Alicia "Cissy" Rucker, Director, Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs, will speak Saturday, March 23, about the current state of women in the United States military.  Rucker spent thirty-three years in the Arkansas National Guard, retiring with the rank of colonel. Her assigned duties included Airfield Commander, Surface Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Manager and State Public Affairs Officer. She is a member of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Committee, as well the Women's International Helicopter Pilots Association.   Prior to her appointment to Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs, Rucker served as the administrator of the Arkansas Career Training Institute. 

 

Benefit concert at Juanita's April 27

Everyone is invited to attend the Arkansas Showcase, 88.3FM KABF benefit concert that will be held on April 27 at Juanita's.  The show is being brought to you by the legendary Butch Stone.  The headliners will be Interstate Buffalo, The Revolutioners and Amore.  The bands will be will be hitting the stage at 10:00pm.  Should be some outstanding music and the money goes for a great cause.

Crawfish boil to benefit seniors

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. --  The Point 94.1 will be hosting the Bugs and Beer Crawfish Boil on Friday, April 19, 2013 from 6pm to 9pm at The River Market Pavilions.  This will be the first year for the event.

The night will be filled with all you can eat crawfish, corn, potatoes, sausage and complimentary beverages. Live music by Jeffery Broussard & The Creole Cowboys and crawfish races for the kids.

A portion of the evening’s proceeds will benefit SCAT (Senior Citizens Activities Today). Senior Citizens Activities Today was founded in 1958 with the help of the Junior League of Little Rock. For over 50 years we have been helping senior citizens live active and fulfilling lives. Senior Citizens Activities Today enables mature adults facing challenges such as low-income and physical/mental disabilities to maintain independence by providing services to meet their health, social and economic needs.
