HOT SPRINGS — The Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts will hold its commencement ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 25, in Summit Arena at the Hot Springs Convention Center. There are 97 students in the Class of 2013.

Three seniors will speak during the ceremony. Student Government Association President Sorena Lo of Paris will give the senior address. Mehr Shah of Little Rock will provide the welcome, and Dimple Shah of Paragould will give the senior speech. Lo is the daughter of Vanessa and Hue Lo. Mehr Shah is the daughter of Sitara and M.B. Shah. Dimple Shah is the daughter of Nisha and Himansu Shah.

Keep Arkansas Beautiful (KAB)’s Poster Competition is held in conjunction with the Great American Cleanup to involve statewide elementary school students in the Cleanup effort, and to educate the public about the importance of a clean and beautiful community to economic development, civic pride and environmental quality of life.  The competition’s winners, including students in grades K - 5, will be exhibited in Thea’s gallery from May 13 to 17.  More information at www.keeparkansasbeautiful.com.

Thea will host KAB’s Poster Competition Winners as well as Mary Ann Stafford’s ongoing The Argenta Project during this upcoming Argenta ArtWalk on Friday, May 17, 5 to 8pm.  Visitors can peruse the art while enjoying yummy hors d’oeuvres and drinks from the open wine and cheese bar.

LITTLE ROCK (May 6, 2013) – This year’s International Greek Food Festival will continue the tradition of serving food, friends and the community by introducing a new menu option, Indian food, and adding new benefiting nonprofits, Arkansas Children’s Hospital and Harmony Health Clinic

Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church will host this year’s festival Friday and Saturday, May 17 and May 18, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, May 19, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The festival features a scrumptious medley of Greek and Mediterranean menu favorites, including baklava, gyros, calamari, pastitso, sourota and much more. The mouthwatering cuisine can be enjoyed at the festival, ordered online to go at www.greekfoodfest.com or picked up at the drive thru. This allows even those with demanding schedules an opportunity to taste the Mediterranean.
