The program will include a brief history of the tradition of church hats, a dramatic skit performed by Yvonne Cook, narratives from local hat wearers explaining how they came into the hat wearing custom and an oath from young African American women who will pledge to carry on this fading practice. Musical entertainment will include The Golatt Links of Harmony and saxophonist Michael Eubanks. Attendees are encouraged to wear their church hats to the program.
