Precipice Theatre Prepares for Opening of 'A Street Car Named Desire' | Arts & Culture
Title (Max 100 Characters)
Precipice Theatre of Little Rock will be performing “A Street Car Named Desire,” a play written by Tennessee Williams, January 18-20 and January 25-27 at the Public Theatre in Little Rock.
This landmark play, the winner of the Pulitzer Prize in 1948, centers on a culture clash between Blanche DuBois, a fading, typical southern bell from the Old South (played by Heather Smith) and Stanley Kowalski, an up and coming member of the immigrant working class, (played by Ricco Ardemagni.)
“The Precipice Theatre production of A Street Car Named Desire is a unique take on a treasured classic. It highlights how delicate relationships can be. It also details some of the struggles facing women in the 40s that are still common today,” Heather Smith, Co-Executive Producer of Precipice Theatre and Cast Member, said.
“Theater goers will find the play just as fresh and relevant as when it was first produced in 1947.”
The play opens January 18 at 7:30 p.m. Show times for Saturday, January 19 are 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The Sunday, January 20 matinee begins at 2p.m. Shows on January 25-26 start at 7:30p.m. The Sunday matinee on January 27 begins at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $13 for adults and $10 for seniors, military, and students. Reservations can be made via email to:
