Little Rock Fashion Week Announces 2012 Model Search

By Alexandria Washington

LITTLE ROCK – Little Rock Fashion Week is back again to heat up the runways July 16-21. After much success last summer, Brandon D. Campbell, creator and executive producer of LRFW, and staff are ready to roll out the red carpet on its fourth year.

"I’m extremely excited about Little Rock Fashion Week 2012. There’s something magical about this year. I can sense that LRFW will be even greater than previous years,” said Campbell. “People have spoke positively about LRFW and have supported our functions throughout the year. Ever since we wrapped LRFW 2011, last July, I’ve been contacted weekly by models wanting to be in LRFW 2012. That speaks volumes of LRFW’s significance and the amount of love that people have for our industry. I’m grateful.”

Mosaic Templars presents 'The Piano Lesson'

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Pulaski Technical College’s Studio 153 Players will perform the Pulitzer Prize winning play The Piano Lesson for three days at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center. The production will open on Thursday, April 26, at 7:00pm with additional showings at 2:00pm and 7:00pm on Friday, April 27, and Saturday, April 28.

Set in Pittsburgh in 1936, The Piano Lesson centers on Boy Willie who wants to sell the family piano to buy land. His sister, Berniece, is opposed to the idea because the antique piano serves as a memoir of their family’s rise from slavery.

“The Piano Lesson is an amazing story about the importance of cherishing family history,” said Quantia Fletcher, assistant director at Mosaic Templars Cultural Center.  “As a museum, our mission is to preserve African American history and celebrate the African American experience.
