Kathy Cooper Piano Studio offers excellence in instruction with many years of experience in teaching and performing in all forms of music. My primary goal is to enrich the lives of our students through the language of music, focusing on maintaining the interests of the students’.

My specialty is piano instruction, but I also teach keyboards, which is a bit different in its approach and technique. Let's explore piano first.

Each student is unique, so the approach to study should be unique, as well. I believe in a strong foundation in note reading in and rhythm study, but I incorporate the individual student's taste to a great degree. No two students are exactly alike, so they should not be taught alike. This, of course makes it more fun for me, too! I emphasize basics a bit more in my younger students, while adults have a stronger voice in what they want to study. If it is not fun, why do this? Practice may be hard work, but we need material that will inspire us to work and when the work is done, we will have a finished product that is a source of pride, whether we choose to share it with others, or just use it for our own enjoyment.
