Hero Central: Benton churches, restaurant teaming up to help homeless

LITTLE ROCK (KTHV)--Benton First Assembly and Family Church in Bryant along with a local restaurant are teaming up to help end homelessness.

Every Tuesday and Friday, the churches load up vans and bring donated food to the less fortunate in Little Rock. They also provide tents and sleeping bags to people living on the street.

Benton First Assembly gives those who live on the street and want help to get out of their current situation a place to stay in an effort to curve homelessness in Arkansas.

Every Tuesday night just, below the Broadway Bridge something happens that most of us don't realize; churches come out in full force to help the homeless. They give out food, clothes and fellowship.

He grew up in Benton, was a football star married the homecoming queen and then his life turned upside down.
